IMPORTANT: ArbOS and Peakflow must run the same build version - even if the ArbOS version number is the same from the previous version to the new one (i.e. Peakflow 9.7 and 9.8 both run on ArbOS 7.3, but both releases have different build version numbers - the new build of ArbOS must be installed).
If using Flexible Licensing
Disable cloud-based flex licensing, then write config
services sp license flexible server cloud_licensing disable
config write
Once the upgrade is complete, re-enable cloud-based flex licensing, then write config
services sp license flexible server cloud_licensing enable
config write
services sp start
config write
I will be performing the upgrade from a downloaded file (I scp'd the new software to the server).
Download the new version of Peakflow from MyNetscout.com → Licensing & Downloads → Arbor Sightline → Software Downloads → Sightline → Arbor Sightline → Arbor Sightline 9.8.0.0. Download both Peakflow and ArbOS.
Transfer the files from your machine to the Sightline device
system files copy scp://ross@<my-local-machine>/home/ross/arbos-7.3-NGEN-x86_64 disk
system files copy scp://ross@<my-local-machine>/home/ross/Peakflow-SP-9.8.0.0-NGEN-x86_64 disk
Verify that the files transferred by listing all items in the system directory.
system files directory disk
Stop Sightline services
services sp stop
Show which Sightline software file is currently installed
system files show
Uninstall Peakflow
system files uninstall Peakflow-SP-9.7.0.0
Install the new variant of ArbOS that was downloaded earlier
system files install disk:arbos-7.3-NGEN-x86_64
Restart the server
reload
y
Once the server is back up, login again and install the new version of Sightline
system files install disk:Peakflow-SP-9.8.0.0-NGEN-x86_64
Start the Sightline service
services sp start
Write config
config write
Confirm that the correct software packages were installed
system files show
